The same three rule-packs the Shopify app uses: UK DMCCA 2024 subscription duties (enforcement expected Spring 2027), US state-level Automatic Renewal Laws (e.g. California, New York, Connecticut — not a federal FTC compliance check), and the EU withdrawal-button requirement under Directive 2023/2673 (in force since 19 June 2026).

Q: What's missing compared to the Shopify app?

The public checker scores your policy text or declared setup on demand, but does not send pre-renewal reminder emails, keep a dated audit trail, or auto-detect your store's jurisdiction — those live only in the Shopify app today, since they need an authenticated connection to your store's subscription data.

Which rules apply to you

UK — Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024 subscription duties. Enforcement expected Spring 2027.
US — state-level Automatic Renewal Laws (California, New York, Connecticut, and others). Not a federal FTC compliance check — there is no single US federal auto-renewal statute in force.
EU — the withdrawal-button requirement under Directive 2023/2673, EU-wide law since 19 June 2026. This one is structural (declared yes/no/unsure), since a withdrawal button is a UI mechanism, not something policy text can prove.
